The Met in HD

In the 2006-07 season, the Metropolitan Opera launched Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD, a series of performance transmissions shown live in high definition (HD) in movie theatres around the world. The series expanded from six to eight opera transmissions in 2007-08, reaching over 600 participating venues in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia — and now in New Zealand. Don’t miss your chance to see The Met Opera captured live on the big screen, at a participating cinema near you!

During August and September 2008 eight operas will be shown in Auckland, Tauranga, Hamilton, Havelock North, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin. The operas being screened are Roméo et Juliette, Hansel and Gretel, Macbeth, Manon Lescaut, Peter Grimes, Tristan und Isolde, La Bohème and La Fille du Régiment.

All sessions: Adult $30, Concessions $25 (Senior Citizens/Children Under 16 yrs-old)
