THE NEW ZEALAND OPERA SOCIETY

In December 2004, the Humanities Research Network was launched. Designed to build infrastructure in the wider humanities sector, it is a database of researchers and organizations which facilitates collaboration, networking, and discussion. Initiated by The Humanities Society of New Zealand and sponsored by Massey University, Victoria University, the National Library and the Auckland University of Technology, this innovative project has been enthusiastically received.

The New Zealand Opera Society has been included in our database, and many of your members would, I'm sure, find our site a useful resource. The site offers a facility for limited access forum discussions, designed to allow a chosen group to work on a common and collaborative document (eg, submissions), and we'd be eager to have your organisation use this in whatever way was useful, either within your own membership, or incorporating individuals or groups from our wider membership. Contact me if you'd like to talk more about this.

We would be grateful if you could notify your members of our existence in your next communication, and invite them to register with the Network directly through the website. Please also add us to your site's list of links. If you have events coming up which you’d like us to add to our events calendar, please let me know and I’ll happily include them.
